A " WoW! " wedding. We had a great time photographing the wedding day of Jason Strong to April McGaffick. They tied the knot at Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport. Then the reception was held at the Lockport Locks & Erie Canal Cruises. Very nice indeed. Everyone was invited to a cruise on the Erie Canal and after the trip a delicious dinner and dancing afterwards at their banquet facility. We got some wonderful pictures of their wedding day. My daughter Christina and her boyfriend Nick let me shoot a few pictures before they went to Niagara Falls High School's home coming dance on Saturday night. They look great.
We didn't have a wedding this weekend so Wendy and I went apple picking. If you haven't tried it you should. we went to Blackman Farms in Cambria. A great place to take the kids. Besides the 10 varieties of apples they also have pears. They have pumpkins, a petting zoo, turkeys, goats, cows, hay bail maze, an many many apple products like cider and apple butter. We had a great time picking 18 lbs. of apples but you can buy them already picked too. Their apple cider is delicious.
We shot my daughter's year book picture today. Christina will be graduating from Niagara Falls High School in June 2010. Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday she was just a little girl. We did the background in her favorite color, purple. She took a great picture. She makes me so proud.

Mark Favorite and Erika Johnson wed in holy matrimony on Saturday. A wonderful couple truly in love. The ceremony was at St. Paul's in Lewiston, NY. The reception was held at Antonio's in the Falls. Mark and Erika are good friends of my son Dan who was in the wedding party. We almost had to cancel the outdoor shots because of rain, but when we got to Niagara Parks it was all sunny again. You can see their complete set on images on our main site, www.theportraitgalleryniagara.com.
A new challenge this week with a major restoration project. The photograph had water accidentally spilled on it and the emulsion separated from the paper and was peeling off. The photo was also badly faded. I had to fudge, yes that is a technical term ( wink, wink ) a lot of the man's suit. There just isn't enough material to clone so I had to make my own. We stopped at Presque Isle Downs and caught a few races again this weekend. The weather was nice but unbelieveably hot. The horses strained to finish the longer challenges. I did get some interesting images and was happy with the results. Here are a few from the day. Click to enlarge.
The Celtic Festival at the Amherst Museum in Amherst, NY. Lots of food, games, dancing and music today at the festival. Plenty of things for everyone to do. Here are a few shots from today.
The Dunkirk Light House in Dunkrk, NY. I took a few images of the building and surrounding areas but with the weather was not co operating ( rain ) they look much better in B&W. I did get one colorful abstract.
